Thanksgiving provides an opportunity for reflection and gratitude. At Simpson, Thomas & Associates one of our core values is showing compassion. We’re strong advocates for victims of car accidents, and we’re always looking for opportunities to give back to our community. We are incredibly thankful to have a team of generous personal injury lawyers and support staff who volunteer outside of work, especially since some of our efforts were recently recognized.
On Sept 7th and 12th, a few of our personal injury lawyers took part in the Pro Bono Going Public campaign. They were part of 117 volunteer lawyers who provided free legal advice to 201 clients. The lawyers gathered at three different outdoor locations and could also be reached by telephone in Vancouver. Over $80K was raised in support of Pro Bono Going Public. In fact, Simpson Thomas & Associates was distinguished as the fourth greatest fundraising team province-wide for the Access Pro Bono event. Thanks to participating team members Troy McLelan and Steve Yung and all those who sponsored them!
This Thanksgiving weekend, we will be supporting the Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICS) in their fundraising efforts for a multicultural long-term care home for seniors. Additionally, as experienced brain injury lawyers we were proud to support the Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association in their walkathon and golf tournament earlier this year.
Being active in the community is one of the ways we enjoy giving back to the people who have supported us over the years. Make sure to say hello to our team at BC’s Vaisakhi Parades when April rolls around.
These are just a few of the causes we support. We’re grateful to be part of the Vancouver community, and we want to thank our dedicated and inspiring legal team as well as the people who choose to work with us. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
